Between Krakow and Venice
KROMER FESTIVAL BIECZ 2023
In music, it always seems more interesting to build bridges than to remain isolated. The free flow of ideas is the basis of development, while the transnationality of language opens up a sea of possibilities. When we add Latin, the lingua franca of church music, the boundaries disappear completely. It is not surprising that composers associated with 17th-century Krakow draw extensively on the outstanding artistic achievements created in Venice, the epicenter of religious music at the time. Splendor and sophistication at the highest level ad majorem Dei gloriam.
