The Bremen specialists for historical trombones

"The warm and malleable sound of the wonderfully lightly responsive Kuhn trombones could be experienced and enjoyed as rarely otherwise"

The Franz Kuhn Trombone Quartet was founded by Juan González Martínez and consists of specialists in historical trombone instruments. The quartet has at its disposal a complete, original set of trombones (alto, tenor, and two bass trombones) from the 1920s by Franz Kuhn. At the same time, the musicians are engaged in historical-romantic playing techniques, based in particular on sheet music and transcriptions from the estate of Paul Weschke (1867-1940). All members regularly play historical trombones from different eras with renowned ensembles such as Le Cercle de l'Harmonie, Capella de la Torre, Capella Cracoviensis, Lautten Compagney, Oltremontano, and Le Concert Olympique.

"All are proven specialists in historical performance practice, as is Lea Suter on the organ, both as a fine soloist and as a sensitive chamber music partner."

"A wonderful concert with an unusual program and musicians who are well worth listening to."

Martin Scheibner. Concert on April 6, 2022, in the Historic Town Hall of Wuppertal. Rheinisches Blechblatt, 2nd quarter of 2022
